When to Consider Dentures

Dentures are needed if teeth are lost.

There are many factors that may contribute to why someone may need dentures such as: Health conditions, dental accidents, genetics, and more.  Proper oral hygiene and regular checkups with your dentist are critical in preventing advanced tooth decay and other oral health issues.

Missing Teeth can compromise your health, eating habits, speech, appearance, and self-confidence.  When teeth are missing, bone loss also occurs which in turn will affect the retention, stability, and function of your denture and any remaining natural teeth you may have.  Chewing ability is decreased and over time, deterioration of the jaw structure. If you cannot chew properly this could also lead to food avoidance and in turn, nutritional deficiency.

We’d prefer you see us first if you think dentures are necessary. This way we can better plan and design your treatment, and discuss with your dentist (when needed). No referral to our clinic is necessary and we offer free consultations & second opinions.

We work closely with a number of Dental Specialists and are more than happy to collaborate with your own dentist. It can be helpful to hear from both sides before you make any decisions about your treatment.
